Southeast Lipid Research Conference  - The University of Kentucky is excited to host the 2017 Southeast Lipid Research Conference on November 2-4 in Lexington, KY. This event will be a great opportunity for cross-participation between physicians, clinicians, and basic scientists with interests in lipids, lipoproteins, and cardiovascular disease. Everyone registered for the 2017 SELRC will automatically be registered for the Cardiovascular Research Day events. SELRC sessions will be held on Thursday, November 2 and Saturday, November 4 . 20th Annual Gill Heart Institute Cardiovascular Research Day  - The University of Kentucky Gill Heart Institute has the tripartite mission of teaching, service and research. The Cardiovascular Research Day is a forum that provides a system for displaying novel scientific data that is predominantly linked to understanding human physiology and disease. 2017 Neuroscience Clinical-Translational Research Symposium  - The Kentucky Neuroscience Institute will hold its second annual Clinical-Translational Research Symposium on September 29, 2017. This day-long event will provide the opportunity for basic, translational and clinical (i.e., clinical studies and trials) neuroscience investigators including trainees, laboratory, and program directors throughout the university to discuss their work, share progress and develop collaborations. The symposium will include a scientific poster session and four theme-based platform sessions, each with short (10-minute) talks selected from abstract submissions. 2017 Infectious Diseases Research Day  - ID research day keynote addresses feature Grant McFadden, PhD, Professor and Director of the Biodesign Center for Immunotherapy, Vaccines and Virotherapy from Arizona State University and Elizabeth Dodds Ashley, PharmD, Associate Professor of Medicine at Duke University School of Medicine. Speakers from the University of Kentucky include Rebecca Dutch, PhD, Department of Molecular Biochemistry, Michael Goodin, PhD, Department of Plant Pathology, and Carrie Shaffer, PhD, Gluck Equine Center. There will also be a 3 minute thesis competition for students and post-docs and a poster session. All events will be in the Todd Building. Abstracts are due October 6, 2017. 10/24/2017 9:00 AM
2017 W.R. Markesbery Symposium of Aging and Dementia - Scientific Symposium  - 7th annual scientific symposium on aging & dementia, Auditorium & Atrium of Pavilion A, A.B. Chandler Hosp,1000 S. Limestone, UK Campus. Registration opens at 9:00am. Program runs from 10:00am - 3:00pm.
